A digital map database that is constantly updated by public inputs to provide road network content has been unveiled by UK-based firm Tele Atlas.

The new Tele Atlas database, known as MultiNet, includes has 500,000 new edits sourced from community input from more than 30 countries.

The global sources include government documents and public safety official statements as well as updates provided by construction companies and truck drivers. This is in addition to satellite and aerial imagery.

The database is constantly validated by millions of people worldwide, Tele Atlas said.
