Traficon has installed a new automatic incident detection (AID) system at the new Cap-la-Houssaye tunnel in Réunion Island, 200km from Mauritius.

The system will provide visual information about stopped vehicles, slow moving vehicles, wrong-way drivers and smoke inside the two tube, three lane tunnel.

The tunnel is a part of Island’s Route des Tamarins scheme, a major road project that has been underway since 2003.
