The US state of Georgia’s Governor Sonny Perdue has granted $50.76m of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds to improving the state’s roads.

The 11 projects include works on Georgia’s highways, intersections and bridges.

The project work mainly includes construction of auxiliary lanes, bridges, intersection improvement, miscellaneous improvements and interstate rehabilitation in the state.

The projects will be implemented in counties including Gwinnett, Bibb and Colquitt.

Out of total amount, $14.4m will be used to build auxiliary lanes in Bibb County while about $10m will be used to refurbish a stretch of interstate from Franklin County to the South Carolina border.
