Kenya has launched two major road projects in the coastal city of Kisumu worth Shs6.8bn.

The 38km Kendu Bay-Homa Bay road and 43km Homa Bay-Mbita road will be upgraded at a cost of Shs3.4bn.

The upgrade projects are aimed at providing all-weather roads in the region to facilitate good access to production and marketing centres.

The construction work for these projects is expected to be completed over a period of 30 months.

The projects are fully funded by the government.
