The US Department of Transportation has selected Sterling Construction Company for a $32.8m highway project in the Island of Hawaii.

The scope of work includes the rebuilding of a two-lane highway on Saddle Road, excavation, embankment, asphalt paving and new drainage.

The project work is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2009 and will take two years to complete.

Heavy civil construction company Sterling specialises in the building and reconstruction of transportation and water infrastructure in the US states.
