Cambridge City Council (CCC) in the UK has installed a centrally controlled Parkeon Varioflex Pay-on-Foot system at four main multi-storey car parks.

The new vehicle parking system, monitored from the Council’s Grand Arcade control room, will replace the existing access control system.

To enable hassle free parking, 18 Varioflex automatic pay stations have also been set up across the city’s five entry and eight exit lanes.

These user-friendly stations will have automatic licence plate recognition systems, barriers, terminals and facilities for users to pay with banknotes, coins and credit card access.

There are plans to link the Grand Arcade control room with city’s main CCTV office.
