An educational awareness campaign to reduce highway worker injuries and fatal accidents has been unveiled in the US by insurance provider Zurich.

The Highway Worker Safety Program, developed in association with the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) aims to tackle the risks posed to workers during the busy summer holiday period.

The programme consists of eight interactive modules that address areas such as bridge and earth work, demolition work, utility and drainage work as well as grading operations and traffic control.

Earlier, a similar programme called the Soft Tissue Injury Prevention Program (STIPP) was developed by the Associated General Contractors of America and Zurich in North America to reduce the number of work-related injuries.
