UK company Variable Message Signs (VMSL) has won a five-year contract in West Midlands to supply and install driver information signs.

VMSL will supply Driver Information Signs (DIS) with full variable text and car park information signs with fixed directions and lettering.

The company will also supply variable car park signs with changeable instructions about possible diversionary routes or congestion information with fixed lettering.

All signs will feature LED technology so that the messages displayed on the signs meet the optical and physical requirements of BS/EN 12966 and TR2516B.

The under-construction West Midlands common database in Quinton will control and monitor the signs.

Currently, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley, Sandwell and Solihull, Coventry and Birmingham authorities have ordered the signs.
