The Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) is planning a $112m road widening project for US Route 441, a busy North Georgia road in the US.

The US 441 that passes through the states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee may get widened from north of Clayton to the North Carolina line.

The project may involve widening the road to four lanes, adding sidewalks on each side of the roadway in Dillard and Mountain City.

It also involves widening a bridge over Little Tennessee River and building a new bridge over Betty Creek.
