Siemens has finished the second phase of the Variable Message Sign (VMS) programme in the US city of Aberdeen.

Work included installing eight new free-text VMS at key locations in the city.

The signs will provide drivers with up-to-date travel and journey-time information including informing motorists of congestion in the area.

The signs will also provide drivers with air quality information to encourage motorists to use park-and-ride facilities when the quality is poor in a bid to reduce pollution in the city.

The programme is part of city’s plans to provide a modern transport system to reduce congestion in the city centre.
