UAE city Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has joined hands with Internet search engine Google to offer an interactive street map, the first city in the Middle East and North Africa.

The city now features on Google’s online mapping website, Google Maps.

The service informs the users about the choice of directions to reach their destination after the user enters the intended destination featured on the map.

The move will allow people to plan their trip anywhere in Dubai using a computer or phone.

The Transport Authority’s Corporate Technical Support Services Sector chief executive Abdullah Al Madani said uploading various transport information on Google Maps was intended to enhance the Journey Planner scheme launched earlier this year.
