A consortium of Polish firm Budimex and Spanish firm Ferrovial has won a €189m (794.4m zlotys) contract to design and build a 25km section of the A4 highway in southern Poland.

The section from Jaroslaw and Radymno, is part of the 670km A4 highway connecting the town of Zgorzelec to Poland’s border with Ukraine.

Major work includes building an intersection at Radymno, two dual-lane carriageways, toll areas, maintenance and service areas, overpasses and service roads.

The A4 road links the country’s major highways and forms part of the international E40 highway.

Work will begin shortly and is expected to finish in April 2012.
