Australian firm Redflex will provide Photo Enforcement Systems for Saudi Arabia’s automated traffic violations administering and monitoring system.

The contract includes the supply of speed enforcement systems as well as the supply and set up of a Violation Processing Centre (VPC).

The VPC system is based on Redflex’s Image and Infringement Processing System, which provides high-volume processing of traffic violations.

The systems will be supplied for three major areas in the country – the Eastern Province, including the cities of Dammam, Khobar and Dhahran, the Aseer Province, including the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait and Ahad Rufaidah and the region of Tabuk.

The $34m contract, signed with the Etihad Al Afandi consortium, includes operations and maintenance of the system for a period of five years.
