Israeli firm Radwin has equipped the R-21 highway in South Africa with a real-time video monitoring and surveillance system.

The wireless broadband system transmits videos of traffic conditions to the South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL)’s traffic management centre.

SANRAL FMS systems manager Adolph Tomes said the system provides the agency with complete visibility over the R-21 highway to monitor and respond to traffic incidents and alert First Responders on the spot.
