Canadian firm Sirit has begun installing a new electronic toll system in Medellin, Colombia.

The company will install its proprietary Flypass electronic toll collection system on four toll plazas covering ten toll lanes.

Of the four plazas on Copacabana, El Santuario, Puerto Triunfo and Las Palmas roads, three have been installed to date.

The company has installed its IDentity 5100 (“ID5100”) readers and passive transponders along the toll road.

The toll system will simplify the toll collection process and offer speed, comfort and security to more than 24,000 daily users in the city, the company said.
