The Azerbaijan Government has begun work on a new 52.5km motor highway from Ujar to Yevlakh in the central region of the country.

The 44m-wide two-lane road runs through the territory of the Ujar, Agdash and Yevlakh regions and includes five bridges.

The road is part of the Baku-Alat-Gazakh-Georgia state border highway and the Silk Road.

The $69.28m road construction has been funded by the OPEC Fund, the Islamic Development Bank and the Azerbaijan Government.
