Gammon India’s unit Gammon Infrastructure Projects has won a $182.6m (Rs8.5bn) contract from the National Highways Authority of India to upgrade a highway in the state of Bihar.

The company will upgrade a stretch of the National Highway-47 from Patna to Muzaffarpur.

Work involves renovating the existing road to a four-lane dual carriageway beginning from Ramashish Chowk as well as building a new 16.87km bypass connecting NH-28 of east-west corridor.

The concession period is 15 years, which includes the construction period of 2.5 years.
