The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) in the US has contracted Electronic Transaction Consultants to set up and operate a new statewide customer service centre for toll operations.

The $23m, five-year contract covers customer services for the Good to Go! electronic tolling program, as well as payment processing, violation collections and business management.

The company will begin work for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and SR 167 HOT lanes in spring 2011.

Work will also be initiated for the SR 520 bridge for which the all-electronic tolling is scheduled to begin in spring 2011.

WSDOT Toll Division Director Craig Stone said drivers can use their Good to Go! accounts at any tolling facility in the state – they will have one account, one transponder and one customer service centre contact.

“We will implement some of the most advanced technology in the industry to provide drivers with improved traffic conditions and a cohesive, streamlined system,” Stone said.
