India has invited Malaysian companies to invest in road projects as the country expects road contracts worth $20bn to be awarded by June 2010.

India’s Road Transport and Highways Minister Kamal Nath said the scale of road projects is such that it represents a win-win situation for Malaysian companies and India, according to news agency PTI.

“The Indian road network is the second largest in the world,” Kamal Nath said.

“Thirty-five Malaysian companies are already involved with various infrastructure projects in India.”
