US firm Proxim Wireless has deployed its Tsunami QuickBridge.11 radio technology to create a wireless video surveillance network in the Venezuelan state of Bolivar.

The technology is part of the state’s integrated public safety network, which connects state and local police, the National Guard, state transportation as well as public safety agencies for city-wide monitoring of streaming video surveillance footage.

The system, known as Emergency Bolivar 1-7-1, allows for better fleet management, emergency call management and automatic deployment of emergency vehicles among other services.

The first phase of the network is already in operation and its expansion to another ten sites with 30 more cameras is underway.
