UK’s Highways Agency has awarded a £149m ($233m) contract to civil engineering firm EnterpriseMouchel to manage motorways and roads in Cumbria and north Lancashire.

The contract covers 519 miles (835km) of roads and bridges including the M6 and M55 motorways, the A66, A590 and parts of the A585 and A595.

The five-year contract begins from July this year.

In addition to this deal, EnterpriseMouchel will also manage routes in Cornwall and in Devon, West of Exeter, under a five-year deal with the agency worth £20m- £30m ($31m-$47m) annually.
