The Canadian Government said it will back 15 new infrastructure projects across British Columbia.

The projects are expected to improve highways, local roads and bridges throughout the province, making them safer for travel.

British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell said the transportation infrastructure under Canada’s Economic Action Plan will create about 220 more direct jobs.

“We’ve invested a total of over $4.4bn to create over 28,000 jobs across every region of the province,” Campbell said.

The Government of Canada will invest more than $17m while the Province of British Columbia will provide over $16m for the proposed projects.
