The World Bank said it will provide $35-40m for the construction of 171km road sectors in Armenia.

World Bank Country Manager for Armenia Aristomene Varoudakis said the transport programme, launched in Armenia in 2009, will be completed by October this year.

The programme aims to reconstruct a total of 240km of roadways in different communities in Armenia.

These roads from the villages are expected to be linked to main adjacent highways.

The initial loan for the programme was $25m and an extra $36.6m was added later.
