A road infrastructure project in China’s Hengqin New Area will receive $1.85bn from the China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC).

The project work includes construction of 52km of main roads, 64km of secondary roads and 53km of landscaping, according to worldhighways.com.

The first phase of the project, which has already begun, includes 14km of embankment work and 31km of new roads.

It is scheduled for completion within 36 months, before the opening of Hengqin campus of the University of Macau.
