The Philippines Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said the Western Visayas road projects will be completed early next year.

The infrastructure projects are estimated at PHP6.9bn ($153m), according to mb.com.

The project work involves construction of lateral roads, national secondary roads, circumferential road and flood control projects across different provinces in the region.

DPWH has awarded the projects to winning bidders before the election ban took effect, considering the coming May elections in the Philippines.
