Bechtel-Enka consortium has been awarded the $1bn deal to build a highway across Kosovo.

The planned four-lane motorway will connect Kosovo with Albania in the west and Serbia in the east.

The American-Turkish consortium Bechtel-Enka is expected to manage the design, procurement, and construction of the highway.

The project work is scheduled to start in April this year, according to Bechtel.

Bechtel-Enka consortium is a joint venture of the San Francisco, California-based Bechtel International and the Istanbul-based Enka.
