The modernisation of the 1,149km of highways and maintenance of 900km of road will soon begin in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan.

With a cost of $551m, the three-year infrastructural investments are expected to total $1.7bn.

The multi-year project involves highway twinning, interchange, realignment, construction, repaving and maintenance works.

Around 42 bridges are also expected to be replaced for security reasons on the transportation network.
