The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDoT) is planning to improve US Highway 69 and 400 in Cherokee County.

Proposals involve a $242m project to construct a freeway linking an interstate highway in central America.

The 24-mile, four-lane freeway will be built between the Cherokee-Crawford county line and I-44.

The freeway is expected to have access every two or three miles along the road.
