Pakistan will receive $25m from the US to reconstruct the Peshawar Southern Ring Road.

The project will involve widening the 25km ring road and increasing its number of lanes to three.

The work also includes building service roads, green belts and centre medians.

Peshawar’s Ring Road is expected to have a bypass and transit link.

The refurbished road is intended to ease traffic in the region, improve security and generate trade opportunities.
