Turkey is planning to build a bridge in Istanbul and a highway in North Marmara as part of a $6bn project.

Istanbul’s third bridge is expected to link a village on the European side with a neighbourhood on the Asian side.

The 1,257m suspension bridge is also expected to connect two highways.

The project involves the construction of a 260km main road, according to todayszaman.com.

The contract is intended to be finalised in five years.
