The Finnish Transport Agency and IBM will work jointly to build a single view of road and traffic information, helping to improve road management in Finland.

The agency, as part of its extensive information systems development project, will use analytics from IBM to collect a view of road conditions, accidents and other road and traffic information.

The solution will provide safe and smoother flow of traffic to road users, while increasing the efficiency of operations for the Finnish Transport Agency.

Combining information from previously isolated silos into one single view, the system utilises the complete view to analyse information.

The solution will also be used to recognise potentially dangerous road sections and for road maintenance purposes.

With the new solution, compatible with maps from the ESRI geographic information service, the road network information is automatically reported and displayed on a map.
