Albania will receive a European Bank for Investment (EIB) loan for its €137m highway rehabilitation programme, which aims to improve accessibility of rural areas to the wider national network.

The EIB loan, estimated to be €50m ($63m), will be used for construction and rehabilitation of secondary and local roads in the nation, according to balkans.com.

The World Bank, the Council of Europe Development Bank, the EBRD, and the OPEC Fund for International Development are also financing the project.
