IVRCL Infrastructures & Projects has been awarded a toll road project worth Rs31bn ($667m) from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The concession period for the project is expected to be 23 years with a capital grant of Rs664.7m ($143m).

The highway project involves widening the highway in Goa between the Maharashtra and Karnataka state boarders. Other works include the construction of a six-laned 900m cable stay bridge over the Zuari river.

The highway portion of the project is scheduled for completion in 36 months and the Zuari bridge work in 48 months.

Tolling is expected to begin after completion of the highway portion.

The project intends to improve road connectivity and ease traffic conditions in the three Indian states of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa.
