GVK Power & Infrastructure has won a Rs8.5bn ($180m) contract to construct a highway in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

The India-based company, through its subsidiary GVK Developmental Projects, will expand a section of highway in the state of Rajasthan to four-lanes.

The project will be implemented by GVK Deoli Kota Expressway, which signed a concession agreement with the National Highways Authority of India last month.

The project is expected to be carried out on a build, operate and transfer basis under the country’s Phase-III National Highways Development Programme.
