The Utah Department of Transportation (UDoT) is planning to move two segments of the I-15 bridge into place in the US city of American Fork.

The segments of the north bridge of Utah’s first diverging diamond interchange are expected to be moved near the main street’s I-15 interchange.

The 2,178t bridge spans are expected to be relocated using accelerated bridge construction techniques.

Relocation of the first and second span of the bridge is expected to be finished by 7 June 2010.

The new interchange is expected to link up with the new Pioneer Crossing road extending to state Route 68 in Saratoga Springs, New York.

I-15 traffic will be diverted to the on- and off-ramps at American Fork’s main street for two days while the work is being carried out, according to UDoT.
