OHL Concesiones has received a MXN 7.3bn ($582m) contract to construct and operate a toll road in the northeastern section of Mexico City.

The 30-year contract, approved by the federal district’s government, is part of an urban toll road system to connect Mexico City to Queretaro, Toluca and Cuernavaca.

The toll road is intended to help ease congestion and improve the flow of traffic in the northeastern region of the capital, according to laht.com.

The Spain-based company is expected to finance, build, operate and maintain the 9km, elevated ring road, its sixth highway construction project in Mexico.
