Tutor Perini has received a $148.8m contract to upgrade a section of the Tappan Zee Bridge in New York City, US.

The US-based company is expected to replace 28% of the concrete decking on the 4.8km-long bridge, which crosses the Hudson River.

The deck-replacement contract, to begin in June this year, is scheduled to be completed by 2012.
