The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) in the US has received approval for its road projects to be undertaken from 2011-20 in the state.

The state transportation work programme, valued at $65.3m, includes planned road projects as well as proposed improvement projects in the region, according to www.rgj.com.

Road widening projects, construction of traffic signals and other safety improvements as well as various retrofit projects will be taken up.

NDOT deputy director Scott Rawlins said the department could begin the next phase of the Highway 50 widening project in 2011 on securing funds.
