The US state of Georgia has opened the $63m section of the $1bn Highway 441 in Dublin.

The Highway 441 is expected to run all the way from South Carolina to Florida, covering the entire length of the state from north to south.

The project is intended to link all the cities across the state, improve safety and help economic development, according to gpb.org.

Expansion of the highway is part of the Georgia Road Improvement Program.
