Midmac Contracting said it has received a contract to build the seventh phase of the Doha Highway in a joint venture with Turkey-based Yuksel Insaat.

The AED1.6bn ($436m) contract was awarded by the public works authority in Qatar, according to the Qatar-based company.

The development work includes constructing and upgrading a four-lane, 6.8km main road with service roads and parking areas on either side.

It also includes building four single point urban interchanges along with construction of services centres, tunnels and shops.

The project is scheduled to be complete in less than three years.
