The French Government will provide a KES8bn ($94m) loan to Kenya to go towards the upgrade of rural road networks and infrastructure.

A total of KES4bn ($49m) will be used for the development of roads under the ‘roads 2000’ rural roads rehabilitation project.

Preparatory studies are currently underway for the road work, which is scheduled to begin next year.

The funding will be made through Agence Francaise de Development, a French international development agency.
