The World Bank is offering a loan of $270m to Tanzania to support its transport infrastructure improvement plans.

The amount is expected to be invested towards restoring 270km of paved trunk roads, designing and bidding 911km of paved trunk roads and bettering road safety.

The transport plan also involves spending $186.5m on upgrading the 98km Arusha-Minjingu road and 172km Korogwe-Same road, and spending $15m on repairing flood-damaged bridges and roads.

The Tanzanian Government is also planning to improve road links, develop a road accident information system, etc according to worldhighways.com.
