A new connecting road has been opened at Manukau City in New Zealand as part of the NZD210m ($148m) SH20-1 Manukau motorway project.

The new Puhinui-Roscommon road is intended to replace the existing on-ramp to SH20 and give drivers a new route to access another road.

The connection will provide a southbound link between Puhinui Road and a new interchange, according to the NZ Transport Agency.

Manukau motorway project, scheduled to be completed this year, involves a 4.5km-long extension with two lanes in each direction.
