The Sultanate of Oman has signed eleven different deals with local companies for road projects under an OMR137m ($355m) transport investment plan.

The Gulf Of Oman company and Al Nasr Al Arabia were awarded projects to rehabilitate about 191km and 133km of Nizwa-Thumrait road for OMR32m ($83m) and OMR24m ($62m), according to Global Arab Network.

Construction of a road from Al Hamra-A’Rustaq, and design and implementation of 47km Wadi AL Halti road and 39km road connections in Hamra Al Dorou were also awarded.

Other projects include designing and constructing 7km of internal roads and 12km of asphalt road, building a 15km-long road and closing two crossroads.

Majan Engineering Consultancy company has also received a contract relating to the consultancy services for the quantity surveying of a dual carriageway project.
