A consortium led by Bilfinger Berger has received a €200m ($259m) contract to construct a 12.6km section of the new ring road around Warsaw in Poland.

The section will have three lanes in each direction and will involve the construction of 15 bridges and 18km of noise barriers, according to property-magazine.eu.

The new highway section, which will connect Warsaw’s airport with the A2 highway, is scheduled to open in May 2012 before the start of the European Football Championship.
