Construction firm Cut and Fill has won a contract to extend the Geelong Ring Road in the Australian state of Victoria.

The project will create a single freeway connection linking Anglesey Road to the Princes Highway, according to supplychainreview.com.au.

The extension work is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2010 and is estimated to cost A$71m ($64m).

The freeway is intended to improve access for freight, commuter and tourist traffic to and from the Geelong region and south-west Victoria.
