Austrian construction company Strabag has won a road contract in Libya, which is part of a $30bn infrastructure expansion plan.

Under the LYD172m ($133.3m) contract, Strabag will join with the Al Hani construction firm in Kuwait to upgrade a 210km road.

The project is expected to be complete within 31 months, according to Reuters.

The contract had previously been awarded to the state-owned Roads and Engineering Company but was cancelled due to delays in implementation.
