Balfour Beatty has received £230m ($362.9m) in funding for the Public Private Partnership street lighting contract for the city of Coventry in the UK.

Balfour will invest £6m ($9m) into the 25-year project, which is part of an initiative to improve road safety for motorists and pedestrians.

The project will involve the installation and maintenance of 33,000 street lights and 6,000 signs and bollards during the first five years of the capital investment period.

The company will also undertake maintenance of all the all existing and new equipment.
