The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is considering issuing a loan of about €75m ($96m) to Moldova for road rehabilitation.

The project aims to improve the road network in Moldova and maintain key road links.

The €183m ($234.6m) project also allows the involvement of the private sector in all periodic road maintenance contracts by bidding.

The loan will be provided in three phases.

The Ministry of Transport and Road Industry will implement the project through the State Road Administration.
