The California Department of Transportation in the US has awarded road contracts to infrastructure contractor Flatiron.

One contract, worth $109m, includes the construction of about four miles of new high-occupancy vehicle lanes along Interstate 5, including two new connector bridges from Route 170 to Interstate 5 north in Los Angeles, US.

The project will be completed in four years.

Flatiron will also widen 1.6 miles of North County Boulevard for $7.6m in Utah County.

In addition, the company is retrofitting a rail bridge for the San Diego North County Transit District in Del Mar, California.
